This project included the design and construction of:
Full renovation to a garden outbuilding
New ground floor WC + Kitchen
Reconfigured stairs
Creating of new multi-use spaces to 1st floor through 3x4m slanted extension
The renovation of a Victorian garage structure, this project aimed to transform a beautiful ancillary building into a space that can accommodate friends and family as a recreational outbuilding. FAB were employed to extend the first floor and to transform the interior into a two bedroom apartment. By replanning the staircase and over-sailing the 1st floor with a slanted slate-clad extension, we were able to create something both highly functional and beautiful at the end of our client’s garden.
KEY CHALLENGES:
The planning officer had concerns over the impact of the roof extension to the neighbour’s garden. Through a series of subtle tweaks, the design was changed and planning was granted.
recognition
This project has been included in Enki Magazine as part of a profile on FAB.
“From start to finish fab were professional but also super friendly. Their ability to understand what we wanted but also come up with original ideas was excellent.”
